DEVELOPMENT OF POWERPOINT MEDIA ON RELATIONS AND FUNCTIONS USING TUTORIAL MODEL TO FACILITATE STUDENTS' MATHEMATICAL UNDERSTANDING
Abstract
The low mathematical understanding ability is caused by teacher-centred learning activities and a lack of utilization and optimization of technology as a learning media, so learning media is needed. This study aimed to produce PowerPoint-assisted mathematics learning media with a tutorial model to facilitate mathematical understanding skills of relation and function material for class VIII SMP / MTs that meet the valid and practical requirements. This research uses the 4-D model, which consists of the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The data collection instruments of this research are validation sheets and student response questionnaires with validity and practicality analysis techniques. The results of validation from learning media 1 to learning media 4 with scores between 88,26%-89,74% and included in the very valid category. The small group trial obtained a practicality value of 89.85%-91.32% with a very practical category. The large group trial obtained a value of 85.35% for media 1 with a very practical category, media 2 obtained 84.59% in the practical category, media 3 obtained 84.55% with a practical category, and media 4 obtained 84.95% with a practical category. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that the PowerPoint-assisted mathematics learning media with a tutorial model to facilitate mathematical understanding of relation and function material has met the standards of validity and practicality.
