IMPLEMENTATION OF ANDROID–BASED LEARNING MEDIA TO ENHANCE MATHEMATICS LEARNING MOTIVATION OF GRADE VIII STUDENTS ON THE TOPIC OF CUBES
Abstract
This study aims to determine whether the implementation of Android-based learning media can enhance students' learning motivation. This is based on findings that eighth-grade students perceive mathematics as a difficult subject and are addicted to gadgets, which often leads to a decline in their learning motivation. This research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a sample of 34 students, consisting of 21 female and 13 male students from Grade VIII of SMP Muhammadiyah 22 Setiabudi Pamulang. The data collection techniques used in this study include administering tests, distributing questionnaires related to learning motivation, and conducting interviews. The research results indicate that the implementation of Android-based learning media can significantly improve students' learning motivation. This is evidenced by the students' learning motivation percentages in cycle 1 of 47% and 50%, and in cycle 2 of 80% and 84%. Furthermore, the results also demonstrate that Android-based learning media not only enhance students' motivation but also significantly improve their learning outcomes in the topic of cubes.
